Millie - 10 Weeks

Nana was our photographer this week. The weather has finally gotten pretty chilly and the only toboggan
that I have that will half way fit Millie is Carter's old one. She has some girly ones that are sized 0-6 months, but any 0 month old that could wear it would have quite a melon. We're at 50th percentile on head size at 2 months and her hats are so big they only get in her eyes and it does not make her happy. For an update Millie weighed 11 lbs, 1 oz at her 2 month check up.
Millie - 9 Weeks
As you can tell I'm way behind posting pictures. I've been back at work part time and every week just seems to fly by. These pics would not grace the pages of any magazine, but they are the first ones I could get of Carter voluntarily holding Millie. He thinks he's so big and he's all about it until she starts to cry, then its "carry mommy". In Carter talk that means he wants mommy to carry Millie.

Halloween 2006
You probably have noticed that the Halloween pictures are about a week late. The night should have been what I expected, but it was NOT what I had planned. Carter absolutely, positively refused to wear his costume. You're wondering how I have this picture?? Well, at about 9:15 Halloween night after we had been at Nana's for about an hour she finally convinced him to put it on and get his treat from her. The little dragon was adorable, but he wore it for a total of about 15 minutes. Earlier in the evening we went to the "Fall Festival" at church, he loved all the games and the cardboard box tunnel but he enjoyed it all in a white tshirt and dragon legs.
Millie kept it pretty simple, she wore one of Carter's old halloween onesies and then when it got cooler she became a fleece pumpkin. As you can tell in the pictures she slept through the entire night.

Daredevil

Carter could be described as a "scaredy" cat. If a cartoon he's watching has a scary character or makes scary noises then he wants to "hold mommy." So I assumed that bright lights, strangers, and crazy carnival rides would be a little intimidating. I was wrong. We went with the Jones' (Jason, Rebecca, Anderson & Sullivan) to the Gurdon Forest Festival Saturday night, they had a small midway with kiddie rides. It was a neat, small town thing. They also had free, live music all day and the last concert was Jody Evans (Nashville start top 3 and Arkadelphia cop). I think all of Gurdon was there. But back to Carter... the first ride Chris was able to ride with him and then he rode a couple of rides with Anderson (age 3). He loved it!! Chris didn't try to put him on the mini ferris wheel because he thought the whole cage thing might be a little much. But wrong again, Rebecca and I went with them the second time and Carter wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel, the attendant didn't want to let him on at first because the "cage" had to be balanced. Carter was not taking no for an answer. Anderson wanted to ride too and then 2 little girls walked up. So they packed the 4 kids in this tiny cage, I would have been having a claustrophobic fit. Not the boys they were squealing and waving and laughing and probably scaring the little girls to death. The last ride of the night...lady bugs, Carter yelled YEE-HAW the entire ride.
All of the excitement and I didn't have a camera!! Very Sad!!

Millie - 7 Weeks
This was my first week back at work and Millie's first week to go to Nana's. I think things went pretty good. Pop was on vacation so Carter was very entertained. The true test will be when Pop's not around and the weather is too bad for them to be outside. These first 7 weeks have flown by, it'll seem to go even faster now that I'm back at work. Hope you enjoy the pics...

Millie - 6 weeks

This week was a week of firsts and lasts. The first time we left Millie with Nana while we went to the Clark County Alumni dinner. Pretty exciting date night. My last week off of work. I'll head back to Gurdon next week. We've had a good 6 weeks, if it wasn't for the sleep deprivation it would have been a nice little vacation. I had a couple of nights with 4 hours of sleep without interruption. It's like college again when I thought 4 hours was a good night sleep. At least now I get a couple of hours on either side of the 4 hour stretch. Carter has been Mr. Social this week, he spent a couple of nights with Nana and then Gran picked him up yesterday. They are planning to go to the zoo tomorrow. Here is our 6 week photo shoot...

Growing...
We are using one of Carter's teddy bears as a growing chart for Millie. Something I wish I had done with Carter but never did. This might be the only second child that has her picture taken more than the first. It's because I regret not taking more of Carter during the early days. I think I was too much of a zombie with him, it's really all a blur. The first pic is ~3 days old and the second picture we took Sunday afternoon (~38 days).

While we were taking the teddy pics guess who had to get into the picture too? We were shocked. It's probably the first time that he has really tried to interact with Millie. Chris was snapping like crazy trying to get a good one of them together. I think he succeeded...

Pumpkins and more...

I'm getting behind, so I'm playing catch-up today. The Annual Pumpkin Day at the Hunter's in Manchester was this last weekend. It was the first one we've gotten to go to. Carter was only about 5 days old two years ago and last year I had to work. I thought that Carter would really enjoy it, and he did after about an hour of saying "carry carter" and holding on to Chris' leg. We finally got a few pics, but it wasn't easy. Carter loved the hayride behind the tractor and of course the pony ride was his favorite.

Sunday we took some pics after church because Nana had a picture of us and Carter when he was a newborn and she wanted one with Millie. Carter is crying because Pop was nearby and not holding him. We were also disrupting his Sunday routine of leaving church and going straight to Mazzio's.
