A TOOTH!!!

Millie's first tooth broke thru today (or last night or yesterday)! She has handled it like a real trooper. She was a little fussy this afternoon and she has started drooling profusely. But other than that she is doing great. Carter was 11 months before his first and he was traumatized. He just wanted to be held. Not Millie, she's still miss independent and a little tooth action is not going to keep her down!

I promise pics will be coming soon! Our wireless is down, so I'm back on good ol' dial up. I'll put up some pics as soon as we're back on something a little faster.

Millie - 8 Months

Millie is FINALLY mobile. On Wednesday the 2nd she actually rolled over from her back to her stomach a few times. By Saturday she was rolling all over the place to be able to get the toys she wanted. Every now and then she forgets she can roll back over from her stomach to her back. Now you ask... is she pulling up? NO!! She hasn't quite put it together that her legs are meant to hold her up. She just folds them up underneath herself. Pretty funny.

Carter just loves her to pieces. He will not leave her alone. Sometimes she just gives him a look that says 'LEAVE ME ALONE!' I'm starting to attempt potty training. Carter is very opposed to peeing in the potty. Last night we were watching a baseball game on TV and I would remind Carter that every one of those big baseball players peepee on the potty. He wasn't buying. We wore CARS big boy underwear this past Saturday. He doesn't really care when they get wet. No big thing.

EASTER - Millie 7 Months

Isn't it amazing... I'm caught up with my blogging!! We did the Easter festivities for a full week. Chris' parents came down last weekend and gave their basket and then this weekend we dyed eggs and did the whole easter hunt thing at my Meme's (my dad's mom). The weather was FREEZING!! Literally. My mom and meme both lost a bunch of their plants. So I did a last minute internet shop to get Carter an outfit that did not include shorts. But of course the only picture I got of his outfit was when it was covered up with a jacket and the back of it when he was sleeping. Millie just gets a sweater thrown over all of her outfits.

A 7-month update... we have been going and weighing Millie every 2 weeks to make sure she's putting on the pounds. She was up to 14lbs 9oz on the 6th. She is still small, but there is no doubt that she is filling out. Just for comparison Carter was about 20lbs at this point, and I think he was already in size 5 diapers or pretty close too it. Millie is still in size 2 diapers. It's amazing how different they can be.

This is the damage that one CHOCOLATE EGG can do!!

Garvan Woodland Gardens

We got Carter and Millie all dressed up to take pictures during spring break. This is the only and I'm sure the last time that Carter will be wearing the one-piece 'shortall' outfit. Chris was not thrilled, but he played along. Millie was just getting good at sitting up when we were taking these. The professional got some pictures of her sitting in the flowers, I hope they turn out all right. I haven't seen them yet, so we'll see. The hardest thing of any of our 'photoshoots' is trying to get Carter to sit still long enough so we can get a picture of them together. Practically impossible.

These last two show some of Carter's creativity... I heard Millie giggling one morning after her nap, and I figured Carter was messing with her thru the rails of the bed, not quite. The other is the afternoon before the Garvan pictures. He got really quiet while I was fixing supper. Luckily eye makeup remover works great on ink!

Millie - 6 Months

As you can tell by the date this was posted, I'm about a month behind. But trust me that these pictures are really from March 7th. Millie has continued to be a GREAT sleeper but she 'flunked' her 6 month checkup. She was too skinny, she weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 8oz...not too good. Her head size and length were between 25-50% but her weight was not even on the charts. Her Dr called a nutritionist and they decided to just increase the calories in her formula. We add an extra 1/2 scoop to a 6 oz bottle. But other than that she has been doing great. She is generally a happy baby...as long as she's getting what she wants!!

Millie - 5 Months

I'm a couple of days early with the 5 months pics, but it's Sunday afternoon and I had a chance. Millie is still a great baby. She could be the definition of "sleeps like a baby". She's is an all nighter and wakes up smiling. Just this week she has discovered her feet. She loves holding things and will try to grab anything that's in her line of sight. She wants to chew on things all the time so we try to make sure she always has a taggie or something to hold on to and chew on. (Thanks Tara for her great taggie, Millie LOVES it!!) Millie has a couple of preferences and she can make life miserable if you don't know what they are...She wants to be held facing out. I just hold her with my arm across her belly and she checks everything out. Being cuddled is not her thing. She also must have a blanket or something soft in her face to go to sleep. She can be screaming and you just give her a blanky to rub on her face and she's instantly peaceful.

It constantly amazes me how different two kids can be. Carter has been a cuddler since day one! Lately if one of us is trying to get him do something he doesn't want to do (like change a diaper...) he'll use the line "cuddle with Mommy/Daddy" he knows it will get us almost everytime. I figure I better enjoy it while it lasts. Our biggest issue with Carter right now is that he is totally opposed to 'personal care'. A haircut or a nail trimming is equal to certain death, in his eyes. I've got to take him to get a haircut this week, I think I'm going to start a rotation of hairdressers so that no one will have to be subjected to his screaming very often. My mom has been cutting it, but it seems cruel to put Nana through the torture. I'm sure he thinks he's the one being tortured!!

That's a lot of rambling, but if I don't write down what's going on at the moment it will all be a blur in a matter of weeks. Enjoy the pics!

New York City and Millie 4 Months!!

We had a great holiday, but it was pretty exhausting. We did 'Christmas' at both of my grandparents, at my parents, and at Chris' parents. Then on the 27th Chris and I flew out of Dallas to New York. We went with the OBU women's basketball team. It was a lot of fun, but I was pretty zonked by the time it was all over. We did our first corny clothes thing. We bought I Love NYC t-shirts for the whole family in Chinatown so we had to take a picture. I'll go ahead and post it so you can see it and I'll get Christmas pics up ASAP.
