Millie - 4 weeks

Our first time to play 'dress up'. Millie had a new dress and hair bow that we had to take some pics of. She might kill me for the bow later in life, but it sure is cute right now!!

Carter is posing on the ladder that Nana caught him climbing on when he could barely climb stairs. He's an old pro now.

First Photo Shoot

What a morning!! We tried to have the kiddos picture made together. No such luck. Carter started the day pretty fussy and it only got worse once we arrived at the studio. I'll post the pics when we get them.

Everyday I am amazed at how Carter's vocabulary is expanding. He called Nana "precious" yesterday, PRECIOUS?? I of course asked where he got that because it's not exactly a word we commonly use. Mom said that she has called him precious before. He has also started putting multiple words together such as "STOP IT DADDY(or mommy or nana)" when we're doing something he doesn't like, such as changing his diaper. Since he was ~18 months old before he was even saying mommy, it's pretty crazy all that he has started doing in 6 months time. Now I'll have to start worrying about what he might say when we're not around. Hopefully nothing too inappropriate...

Playing Around

We enjoyed a lazy Saturday today. Chris mowed the yard and we picked up around the house. I tried to get some pics of Carter and Millie together. That didn't really work out. But I had to share the Tonka truck pic and one that I took yesterday.

Millie - 3 weeks

Today Millie is 3 weeks old. Time has flown. This week has been a challenge. Not because of Millie or Carter, they have both been great. I'm the pharmacy consultant for a nursing home here in town and I have to review charts every month, 112 patients. Getting it all figured out...how to juggle feeding Millie and then getting up to the NH to get my stuff done there has been the challenge. But I am done now!!! I just have to go to Gurdon and print my reports. It's the best feeling.
Millie sleeping through our trip to Gurdon!!
Millie is still sleeping pretty good. I think I'm having to get up a little more with her than I did Carter, but I think that's because she goes to sleep easier. We're not usually up half the night trying to get her to sleep. On average I feed her last about 10:30 and then she'll get up between 1:00 and 2:00 and then again a little before 6:00. Not bad! I know that all this might be a little boring for everyone, but I need to write it down so that I'll remember. The first 6 weeks of Carter's life is pretty fuzzy. I don't remember a whole lot. So this little blog is my way to remember.
Carter is getting more and more attached to Miss Millie. If he's leaving to go somewhere, school or Nana's, he has to give everyone 'sugars' and a hug. This includes Millie. He gets a little frustrated because she's hard to hug when she's in her bouncer, I'm trying to encourage him to give her sugars and a love pat. Mom said that he even asked about 'Miwie' while he was at her house. The true test will be when they are both at Nana's alone.

Busy Weekend

This weekend was full of fun activities. Friday night Chris took Carter to the Badger game. The highlight for Carter was catching one of the toy footballs.

Chris' parents, Gran and Pappaw, came down Saturday to celebrate Carter's birthday. They brought lots of fun toys and some great clothes. Carter's favorite was a truck that hauls a cow and a horse and plays 'great' music. Then Aunt Sara and Uncle Clint came by also with gifts, one being a HUGE Tonka dump truck. Then everyone hung around to watch the Arkansas game. Last but certainly not least we went to Fish Net for supper with Nana, Pop, Sara, and Clint. Carter liked the catfish and hushpuppies, but he loved his ketchup. He ate it off his plate with a spoon, YUCK!!

Today we had two family events...the annual Cagle reunion and Meme's birthday party. We just made a quick stop by the reunion and then headed to Nana's for the party. We took a ton of pics of all branches of the Bridges family so that I could make Meme her 2007 calendar.

Millie slept through almost the entire weekend and Carter was in his element...TONS of attention. And after all the birthday celebrations our house looks like a Toysrus store, but he loves it all!! I can't imagine what it will be like when we had little girl toys to the mix...oh my!!

Carter - 2 years, Millie - 2 weeks

Carter's birthday was yesterday. He had a very busy day. He went to school and played very hard, he loves the 'big slide'.

We had cake and ice cream at Nana's and Pop's. His cake was a John Deere cake, it was adorable!! This was the first time Carter really enjoyed opening presents, he didn't care what was in them he just wanted to open them. We saved his new tractor and trailer for last. He didn't even want to eat cake once he started playing. And it's very unusual for Carter not to want anything sweet. He got lots of great clothes from everyone and Nana even got him some play-doh. That stayed at her house. We had a great time celebrating Carter's birthday. Today Millie is two weeks old.
This was one of the first times I could get Carter to 'hold' Millie.
You can see how Millie felt about it.

Millie - 1 Week

Millie was one week old yesterday. She went to Nana's and Pop's for the first time. They cooked hamburgers and we got to eat outside. The weather was wonderful. Carter spent the day out there, he and Pop did the Farmer thing all day. They fixed the tractor, checked the cows, and rode the tractor. Riding the tractor is Carter's most favorite thing!!! We tried to do a little photo shoot. Millie cooperated (she was asleep) but Carter was not as willing. He's all about pics by himself but when it comes to getting that close to Millie, no thanks. We tricked him into this one.
