Thursday was a light day for the camera, but it wasn't a light day for activity. After playing at the beach and looking for more seashells, we took another trip to the pool. After showers, baths and other ways to get sand out of our bodies and clothes, we took a late lunch to Lambert's, home of the throwed rolls. Mom ate a hamburger, Carter helped her, Dad ate fried chicken, Carter helped him, too, and Millie stuck with the Cheerios. We took a trip to Wal-Mart, went back to the condo, swam in the pool for a little bit and called it a night.
Big day planned for Friday.
Welcome to our blog where we will post updates on our family on a not-so-daily basis. We hope you enjoy and feel free to click away.

A(nother) Day At The Beach
Wednesday was the day that we hit the beach hard rather than hardly hitting the beach. Millie took some cute pictures with mom while Carter and daddy played in the little water.

Carter and the sand have become friends now and the hunt for seashells is on!!
That afternoon we welcomed the Dennies who brought playmates for Carter and Millie in the form of Reagan and Anderson. The party has just started.

Day Two in Paradise
Day two was a little bit different than the first day. Dad met up with cousins Reed and Patrick to take in a round of golf early that morning, so Mom, Carter and Millie hung our for most or the day. After hanging out in the condo, the trio headed to a shoe store to look for some sandals mom saw a friend wearing and then piddled around Gulf Shores for a little bit.
That afternoon we all headed to Orange Beach to go to Doc's Seafood and Oyster Shack for an early supper and hit the Tanger Outlet Malls to see what sales Gymboree had in store for Carter and Millie.
Nothing big on day two, just a nice day of whatever we wanted to do.

Beach Bums? Nah, Not Us
After a short night's sleep it was fun to be woken up by Carter and open the curtains to see his eyes light up when he saw the beach and ocean (I know it's not really an ocean, but it sounds better than gulf) for the first time.
After all of the build-up about going to the beach, it was finally time to introduce Carter and Millie to the wonderful world of sand, seashells, saltwater and sand. Mid-morning came, we loaded up our towels and tools (for sandcastle building, of course) and headed down the elevator to the beach where much fun awaited. By the time we got to the beach and found a spot 20 minutes later, Millie was ready for a nap and Carter was ready for the "little water" also known as a pool. First trip to the beach, no sand castles, lots of wasted sunscreen, and lots of sand in the swimsuit. Mommy and Millie headed upstairs for a nap and Carter and Daddy played in the little water until lunch time.
The afternoon storm set in over Gulf Shores, so mom headed to Wal-Mart for trip number one of the week and came back with all the beach gear we would need. Monday night we met up with our NWA family who were also in town for the week, ate at Bahama Bob's and then hit the beach for a night (short one) of crab hunting.
One full day down and five more to go. Surely we'll get more sand in our toes before the week is over.

Vacation at the Beach - Sort of :)
After our Father's day lunch we changed clothes, loaded the van, and began our trip to Gulf Shores. A whole week of relaxing on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico was ahead of us, right? In a few years, maybe.
Our trip down on Sunday afternoon could not have been any better. With departure time from Arkadelphia lining up with nap time for the kiddos, we drove all the way to Jackson, MS, before the troops arose. We stopped to stretch our legs, get gas and run around a little bit and Carter and Millie decided they wanted to drive the rest of the way.
After loading back up, we were introduced to the world of Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, Doc and the quest for the Piston Cup as the wonderful world of in-car (or van) DVDs took us the next two hours to Magee, Mississippi, where KFC awaited. After a finger lickin' and diaper changin' good time, we loaded up again, watched the kids fall asleep through the rear-view mirror and drove the rest of the way to Gulf Shores.

Millie - 9 Months

Trying to get caught up on my pics. Millie is getting bigger but not any more mobile. I'm not complaining. It is pretty cool to be able to find her where I leave her. She will spin in place if she's on her belly. Our new pediatrician, Dr. Ward, says not to worry she'll be up and at it anyday. But as of now we're not even sure that her legs can support her own weight. These pics were taken on Millie's big bed, I already had a full size bed that I just left in her room so whenever she outgrows the baby bed I won't have to do anything else. Just didn't want anyone to think that Chris slept in a bed with pretty pink flowers all over it. We did this little photo shoot before work, Carter was really in a mood to pose. I have to admit these are some of my favorites!!
