Getting Closer and OOOPS!!!

This might be why Millie is a little hesitant to start walking!!

First Haircut

Millie got her first little trim this morning. She had a little mullet action going and we had to put a stop to it!! It was hard to do, but some 'firsts' just have to happen, she will thank me for it later.

Merry Christmas!!

I haven't posted in FOREVER... but i had to give you a sneak preview of the Christmas card. You can not imagine how hard it is to get a pic of them together. Millie is on the move and Carter knows that I want him to work with me and he does the opposite. We did two different photo 'sessions' but there was a common thing in both...

For those of you that keep up with Lori Machen's blog, Molly is only a couple of months older than Carter. Anyone want to argue that girls mature faster than boys? He started whining as soon as we got to the mall, he just wanted to go shopping. Millie was not the least bit anxious until we actually placed her in Santa's lap. I'm sure that her anxiety was not helped at all by her older brother. All the Santa pics over the last 3 years have been priceless. I think this will provide plenty of laughs for a long time!! (I know Santa looks a little grumpy, but he was really nice. He took his time talking to Carter and did everything he could to prevent what ultimately happened...)

Millie - 15 Months

These were taken right after the exciting Arkadelphia Christmas Parade. I hate that all of you missed it. I'm sorry I don't have any pics of the actual parade. It was interesting... high school drill team on four-wheelers, another group of grown men on four-wheelers wearing antlers, roped together and 'pulling' santa. The list goes on and on. Millie's blank face my be from being completely overwhelmed.

Millie - 14 Months

I am WAY behind on my posting so I'm going to play some major catch up today. Millie started going to Mother's Day out this past month. Halloween was her first day and she went last week. There were no tears on day 1, but I think she had us figured out the second time around. But overall she has done great. She has quite a bit of stranger anxiety at times, Carter NEVER cared who had him so this has been an adjustment. Ms. Naomi is amazed at how much she eats...I think they even give her the other kids leftovers. The poor thing, they probably think I'm starving her.

Her motor skills are coming right along. She is now crawling on a consistent basis, the scoot is now only used when she needs her hands free. She has started pulling up to stand against the coach, ottoman etc. She has a little 6 month old friend in the nursery that is doing all the same things. Pretty funny (sad)!! She loves to walk while you're holding her hands, but she will not walk around furniture yet. She hasn't figured out she can 'cruise.' Just this weekend she started putting weight on her feet and hands at the same time like she was just going to stand up and go. We'll see. I'll still be suprised if we have a walker by Christmas.

Millie is starting to try out 'words'. When you ask her to say something you can really tell she works at it and sometimes she gets pretty close. Things she says that almost sound like they should: Momma, cracker, kitty, hot, Pop. She can also make a lot of the animal sounds. Nothing like Carter did, but she hasn't shown the interest in animals that he did.

These pictures are from her first day of School.

HALLOWEEN

We had a couple of Halloween parties. One at school and one at church. These are some glimpses of my Cowboy and Ballerina. Carter requested the rope, he needed it to rope the calves. He got most of his Cowboy/Bull Riding gear for his birthday and he was so excited. Millie LOVED the chance to eat a sucker. I think she had a dum-dum in her mouth the entire time and if she didn't she was NOT a happy camper.
